Funtopia Adelaide is a high-capacity indoor adventure park situated just minutes from the CBD. It’s a great spot for families because it offers a massive range of climbing challenges that actually keep kids of different ages and physical abilities engaged at the same time.
While there is a play centre annex for younger children, the real draw here is the rock climbing arena. It features over 30 themed walls and obstacle courses, providing a much-needed challenge for older children and teenagers who might be bored by traditional playgrounds.
The climbing walls are creatively themed, ranging from skyscraper leaps and volcanic rock faces to interactive, arcade-style challenges. Most walls have accessible grips for beginners, but there is also a dedicated technical wall with professional-grade overhangs to test the more experienced climbers in the family.
For parents, the layout is a winner. There’s a centrally positioned café area with great sightlines across both the climbing zones and the playground. It’s also close to the entry and exit gates, which gives you peace of mind. You can actually grab a barista-made coffee, log onto the guest Wi-Fi, and keep an eye on the action from a stationary position while the kids burn off their energy.
